I am an experienced on-set/location VFX Supervisor & Consultant with a career history spanning more than thirty years, specialising in independent film and broadcast television projects.  I am also a comprehensive 3D Generalist with match moving skills and expert abilities in compositing focusing on keying, planar tracking, rotoscoping and colour correction.

    The Gospels of Us  February 2012 - April 2013

    Worked on Dave McKean’s film ‘The Gospel of Us’. The film was shot in 2011 during a live theatre event staged in Port Talbot, Wales. I worked as Lead Compositor on the BirdMan sequence. The film was premièred in Port Talbot on Easter Sunday April 2012.

    Worked on a range of projects for the company. Visual effects supervisor on the children’s series ‘Mission 2110’ for BBC Scotland. Visual effects supervisor on ‘Outcasts’ produced for the BBC by Kudos Film & Television. This latter project also involved on location VFX supervision in South Africa for over four months during principal photography.

    Oversee the setting up of a 3D post production facility to compliment the already functioning Vicon based motion capture studio with a remit to support the motion-capture service with a CG character focused post production department.

    Invincable  2000 - 2001

    VFX Supervisor on Werner Herzog’s feature film “Invincible”.  Set up all hardware and software, supervised on set and in digital post production of all shots including film scanning and record outs.

  • CG Supervisor ‣ Freelance Supervisor & Post-Production

    Peerless Camera Company  2000 - 2000

    Acted as CG Supervisor and IRIX/UNIX technical support for the company’s contribution to the visual effects post production on the feature film “Vertical Limit”.  In addition to staff management, was also responsible directly for the development and technical execution of the high speed snow particle systems, a key component of the visual effects shots.

  • CG Supervisor ‣ Freelance Supervisor

    Anderson Entertainment  1999 - 2000

    Acted as CG Supervisor and technical adviser to Gerry Anderson for the four minute pitch trailer for the CG version of ‘Captain Scarlet’.  Organised and supervised the full body and facial motion capture shoot as well as overseeing the work being executed for the project by The Moving Picture Company.

    Pepper's Ghost Productions Ltd  1998 - 1999

    Prepared the company for full television CG animation production. Developed both motion capture and hand animation pipelines.  Produced three CG pilots including the seven minute pilot of “Tiny Planets” which subsequently became a full series aired on ITV in the UK.

    The Magic Camera Company Ltd  1993 - 1998

    Set up the company’s first digital film post production department. Specified all hardware, software and staffing on all projects.  Extensive hands on creative and technical supervision on set and in post production.  Script breakdowns, budgeting and staff scheduling.  Worked on fourteen feature films, a number of TV series and mini-series.
